Poor referring dents Super Div match

By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, July 31 Poor referring by Indian Football Association (IFA), Kolkata referee Pijush Biswas created some unpleasant scenes in todays match of the GSA Super Division Football at the Nehru Stadium here. The decisions made by Biswas led to many disputes which affected the spirit of the match.

It was observed that Biswas was not in command from the very beginning due to which players of both the teams engaged themselves in verbal and physical exchanges.

The scene got so ugly that a Police player Diganta Baruah rushed and grabbed the referee midway through the first session. Diganta was protesting as to why the referee ignored a foul made by a opponent player on him.

Later when asked why he only showed the yellow card instead of the red card which the Police defender deserved, Biswas in an ill-tempered manner told mediapersons he is under no obligation to reply to the query. Guwahati Referee Association secretary Bipin Deka, when contacted said, the referee did not submit any report in this regard.

Due to poor supervision by Biswas, the match turned uncontrollable in the later part. The players apparently manhandled him protesting some of his disputed decisions. The proceeding of the match even had to be abandoned for few minutes in the second half as players created a melee against his decisions.
