GAURIPUR, Feb 6 The poll scene for the Gauripur Town Committee in Dhubri district has hotted up with the Congress, BJP, BPF and AIUDF and AGP upping their respective campaigns by holding street meetings in all the four wards. Altogether 18,763 voters will decide the fate of 22 candidates in 18 polling centres.

The Congress, BJP and BPF have fielded candidates for all the four wards. The AIUDF has put up candidates for two wards, while the AGP has fielded a lone candidate.

The BPF, which had constituted the outgoing Town Committee, is hopeful of regaining power. The BJP, on the other hand, claimed that the voters of the town are seeking a change and as such, they would vote in its favour. The Independent candidates are also hopeful of their poll prospects.
