Poll campaign begins at Kamalpur

BAIHATA CHARIALI, March 29 - The party candidates have started poll campaign in 56-Kamalpur constituency. The AGP-BJP alliance candidate, Satyabrat Kalita, has already met a number of veteran AGP leaders and workers to bring the regional party back into action in the constituency.

On the other hand, almost all BJP leaders and workers of the constituency are working with the AGP workers which will work to Satyabrat Kalita�s advantage in the Assembly elections.

The Congress party has nominated APCC secretary Pranjit Choudhury, who is popular among the young Congress workers in the constituency. To make poll strategies, the Congress candidate also held a number of talks and sittings with the party members.

Similarly, Madhabi Deka, who is also a member of Patidarrang Zilla Parishad, has filed her nomination on the Trinamool Congress ticket. She is the only woman candidate in the constituency.

Independent candidate Omar Rashid also started his campaign in the panchayats of the constituency with his supporters who had gathered poll experiences during the last two Assembly elections. Ex-Congress worker Matlebuddin Ahmed, who has filed his nomination on Kamalpur Vikas Mancha ticket, started his campaign in the constituency with a section of ex-Congress workers.
