GUWAHATI, March 30 - The Kamrup Metro Election District, in association with the Guwahati Press Club, organised an awareness programme on Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) with Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) for the benefit of scribes, in the Press Club auditorium here today.
Speaking on the occasion, District Election Officer of Kamrup Metro Dr M Angamuthu informed that the VVPAT and EVM facility would be available for the electorate belonging to all four Assembly constituencies located in Guwahati.
He also said the administration has received a formal request from the city-based media fraternity, who are non-native to the city, for providing the facility of postal ballots for them.
Angamuthu said it is a valid request and he has already forwarded the letter to the Election Commission of India.
