Political leaders visit martyr�s house

PATACHARKUCHI, Aug 3 - The State president of BJP Ranjeet Kumar Dass today visited the house of Pranay Kalita, the slain Assam Rifles jawan of Ghatbar under Bajali subdivision who sacrificed his life recently at the hand of terrorists.

He paid rich tributes at the portrait of the slain martyr and interacted with his widow and the family members and expressed his deep condolence to the bereaved family members. The workers of Bajali district BJP accompanied him.

The flow of people and political leaders is continuing to the house of the slain jawan. Ripun Bora, the State Congress president with some leaders including Kamal Kumar Medhi, Santanu Sarma, Girish Patgiri and some other workers also came to pay tributes. Bora handed over a condolence message to the bereaved family members. During his visit he criticised the militant groups involved in such ghastly killings and said they will never reach their goal by such type of activities. They should shun violence and come for talks to solve their demands.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Transport and Industry Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Dilip Saikia MP, Ashok Sarma MLA, Nalbari, Pabindra Deka MLA, Patacharkuchi, Hira Sarania MP also visited the house of bereaved family. Minister Bhabesh Kalita attended the funeral. Meanwhile, local people and various organisations arranged common tribute paying programme by lighting lamps at the residence of the martyr.

The government has already decided to construct the approach road to the 127 (A) National Highway from the residence of Kalita and name it after him as a mark of respect.
