GUWAHATI, April 28 - Police are still clueless about the whereabouts of Rebati Phukan, member of the PCG once formed by ULFA to mediate with the Centre. Phukan had gone missing on April 22 last.

Police sources said there are apparently no leads on which some work can be done. We are clueless as of now, a source said.

Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by ADCP (central) Subhashis Baruah to investigate the incident.

Sources said police have launched searches in drains and other suspected areas.

Sixty five-year-old Phukan had reportedly gone missing after he left his rented house located at Ambikagiri Nagar here for a morning walk on April 22. He was last seen by an auto-rickshaw driver near the Assam State Zoo.

A businessman and former footballer, Phukan hails from Jeraigaon in Tinsukia district.

His family members said for the past three months Phukan had been working on the clauses of a document relating to the issue of initiation of negotiations.
