ITANAGAR, Sept 6 - In a prompt operation, the police in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh rescued a minor girl and arrested her alleged kidnapper within 24 hours of the incident.
Giving details of the incident, the DSP of Changlang district said that a written complaint was filed by one Sarda Alok of Jairampur in Changlang district, that her daughter, a Class VIII student, had not returned from school on Wednesday. It was alleged that one Shyam Singh Sekhawat had abducted her.
Following the registration of the case, Jairampur Police led by SI PK Kalita arrested Sekhawat and rescued the girl from Namrup in Assam with the help of the Namrup Police within 24 hours, the DSP said.
