IMPHAL, Nov 10 � Muslim organisations of Sora in Thoubal district of Manipur has condemned Kakching Police Station officer-in charge B Rishikesh Sharma for allegedly beating up several women and firing several rounds in the air before ransacking a mosque. The police allegedly destroyed a holy Quran and a loudspeaker during the 48-hour Imphal-Moreh road blockade call given by the Yaithibi Loukon Land Owners� Association (YLLOA).
A protest meeting attended by local club leaders, representatives of the YLLOA and Anjuman Nasrul Islam and other social organisations on Saturday condemned the incident and demanded the Manipur Government to take action against Kakching police officer-in-charge Rishikesh Sharma, said YLLOA president Md Alimuddin at a press meet.
The protest meeting held at Purani Masajid in Sora Awang Leikai under Kakching, where the incident took place, was presided over by Maulvi Riyajuddin.
