DERGAON, Oct 3 - The officer-in-charge of Kamargaon police station Mayurjit Phukan was seriously injured when his hand was injured with a sharp weapon by a suspected poacher Tuesday night.
The officer-in-charge, led by ASP Golaghat Surajit Singh Paneswar, was on a search for poachers at Lokhoujan at around 10 pm last night.
The officer-in-charge informed that he was suddenly attacked by someone with a sharp weapon. One other poacher was also there with a sharp weapon. After attacking the officer-in-charge, the poacher managed to escape in dark. The police team however could nab one Ranjit and seized some arms.
