HAILAKANDI, Sept 20 - The three Bangladeshi nationals arrested by the police at Lala in Hailakandi district on Sunday for violation of the Indian Passport Act, 1967, have been sent to police remand for four days by the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

They will also be booked under the Foreigners Act, 1946, Hailakandi SP Mohneesh Mishra said.

Mishra said though the trio possessed valid passports with tourist visa, they violated the Passport Act by carrying out trade and business activities. The Bangladeshi nationals came on a tourist visa, but they committed offence under the Passport Act by indulging in business activities which they cannot do as they do not possess any business visa, the Hailakandi SP pointed out.
