Police cracks tea garden worker�s murder mystery

ITANAGAR, Sept 23 - Police under Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh have claimed to have solved a murder mystery within 24 hours of the incidence by arresting two persons involved in the crime.

Namsai district Superintendent of Police Ankit Kr Singh said that information of a murder was received at the Chongkham Police Station from one Chow Sanjay Mein, Chongkham-III village, a tea garden owner, on Monday last that someone has killed his labourer�s son near the tea garden entry gate on the previous night. On receipt of the complaint, a case was registered.

The deceased was identified as 18-year-old Biraj Mins. The SP said that there were no ocular witnesses to the murder and no clues of the murderer at the crime scene. The police raided and nabbed two suspects � Kartik Gamang (20) and Dinesh Murmu (23) from Chongkham area after getting inputs from sources.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed of murdering Biraj Mins on September 16. The suspects also admitted that they were all friends, worked as tea garden labourers and had consumed liquor together and had heated arguments on some issue before the murder. Based on their revelation, the police recovered the objects (smeared with blood) used for committing the crime which were thrown at some distance from the crime scene, the SP informed.
