Police cases registered against 2 IAS officers

GUWAHATI, Sept 11 - The police have registered cases against two IAS officers � Kumud Chandra Kalita and Chouhan Doley � for different charges against them.

In a written reply to a question raised by MLA Pranab Kalita in the Assembly, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary said Kalita is facing charges of financial irregularities in the Social Welfare Department and Doley is facing a case over child labour harassment.

Four IPS officers � Mridul Kumar Dutta, Satyaraj Hazarika, YT Gyatso and Dr N Rajamarthandan � also have police cases registered against them.

IPS officers against whom departmental proceedings have been ordered are Prasanta Sagar Changmai, Violet Baruah, Devajyoti Mukherjee, Mridul Kumar Dutta, Mihir Goswami, Jitmal Doley, Moinul Islam Mandal, Vinod Kumar, N Rajamarthandan, Prasanta Kumar Dutta, Jiban Singh, SA Karim and Mridulananda Sarma.
