JORABAT, May 10 - The Jorabat police today cracked the whip on citizens who had ignored the government�s lockdown guidelines.
Even as the nation is currently under COVID-19 lockdown, a good number of people gathered at the 14th Mile weekly market, which defeated the very purpose of the lockdown.
A conscious section of people, witnessing the crowd gather at the weekly market, informed the Sonapur police, under which the area falls.
After noticing no response from the Sonapur police, they again informed the Jorabat police about the issue.
After reaching the spot, the Jorabat police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the crowd that gathered at the market and even outside grocery stores.
