DHUBRI, March 10 - Dhubri police on Saturday busted a major route from which countrymade illicit liquor was being carried to different areas of Golokganj for distribution.
Police said that in the raid conducted by the officials of Golokganj PS, it was found that traders were carrying more than 500 litres of such liquor on five cycles to various parts of Golokganj in the morning.
�We have been very strict about trade of such liquor, but this is a major crackdown as we have now identified how the trade flows and from where such products are imported to the district,� said Dhubri DSP Trinayan Bhuyan.
He said that in this raid, no arrest has been made as all the cyclists carrying the materials managed to flee.
Police destroyed the liquor they seized on Sunday morning.
