GUWAHATI, June 13 - Guwahati Traffic Police in its endeavour to better the traffic management, wants to initiate a pilot project at Jalukbari Rotary and areas like Paltanbazar, Ulubari, Sixmile and Rajdhani Maszid point to Ganeshguri flyover via Ganesh Mandir from June 15 on an experimental basis.
The experiment will include strict enforcement of traffic rules, proper parking of vehicles with strict enforcement of �No Parking� norms, �No Parking� around junctions, regularisation of the movement of public transport and following of timings, eviction of illegal vendors, road safety norms etc.
The basic aim of the pilot project is to smoothen the traffic movement in these places. The police department has appealed to all the road users to make use of alternative routes, which may ease congestion to some extent.
A number of diversions and restrictions will also be effected.
