BISWANATH CHARIALI, Sept 22 - Biswanath Police, led by O/C Shivaram Marang, picked up the prime suspect of rhino poaching in the Kaziranga National Park, Azhar Ali who was also the PSO of former minister Noorjamal Sarkar, from Panigaon in Lakhimpur today.
Later, Ali was handed over to the Kaziranga National Park authorities as he had been looked for by the Department.
Investigation into the matter is on.
It may be mentioned here that two persons arrested from Tamil Nadu � Maqbul Ali and Noor Kasem � had mentioned Ali�s involvement in rhino poaching. Azhar Ali works as a constable with Assam Police.
Biswanath SP has, meanwhile, informed media-persons here that departmental proceedings would be initiated against the accused very soon.
