PNB organises walkathon to mark Vigilance Awareness Week

GUWAHATI, Nov 1 - As a part of Vigilance Awareness Week, employees of Punjab National Bank organised a walkathon today from the bank�s Guwahati Zonal Office at Panbazar to Dighalipukhuri and back, a press release stated. The week, it may be mentioned, is being observed all over India from October 27 to November 2 with the theme: �Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat� (Vigilant India, Prosperous India).

The walkathon was led by Shio Shankar Singh, Zonal Manager of PNB. The Integrity Pledge was administered among all the staff even as Singh urged all the employees to be vigilant and support the fight against graft. PNB organised various activities for the staff as well as a number of outreach programmes for the public to increase awareness against corruption and its evil effects.

Further, Gram Sampark Abhiyan in villages was also organised to increase awareness. Distribution of masks and sanitizers was done in these meetings.

The event was also attended by Ramesh Chandra, Deputy Zonal Manager ZO Guwahati, Nirendra Kumar, Circle Head CO Guwahati and Manasij Chakraborty, Circle Head CO Kamrup, along with other staff members and public, the release concluded.
