GUWAHATI, June 7 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a video conference with beneficiaries of various health schemes like knee replacement, coronary stents and Jan Aushadhi Stores from across the country, including Assam.
The video conference was on follow-ups of the benefits received by the beneficiaries after the government slashed the prices of coronary stents and drugs for cancer patients among others, a press release said here.
It was screened live at the offices of NIC Kamrup Metro, and the Deputy Commissioner, Guwahati.
National Health Mission, Assam, Mission Director JVN Subramanyam, Commissioner and Secretary of Medical Education July Sonawal, Director of Medical Education Dr Arup Barman, GMCH Superintendent Romen Talukdar, ADC Kamrup (Metro) Prasanta Protim Kathkatia, Joint Director of Health Services, Kamrup (Metro) Dr Ganesh Saikia, and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics at GMCH Dr Sanjeev Bhuyan were present.
The video conference was also live-streamed at the Sonapur Block PHC.
The objectives of the video conference was to interact with the beneficiaries and to make the heath schemes popular so that more people become aware about them.
