By Staff Correspondent

SILCHAR, April 7 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Silchar on April 11 to add fillip to the campaign for the Silchar Lok Sabha seat, voting for which will be held on April 18. This was informed by Dr Rajdeep Roy, the BJP candidate. Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Dr Rajdeep Roy said that Prime Minister will address around 2 lakh people at Ramnagar, the same venue where he started his campaign for south Assam earlier on January 4 this year.

Along with the Prime Minister, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will also reach here to woo the voters.

The works done by the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has touched more than 40 crore beneficiaries and over 7 lakh people here in Silchar have been benefited as well. The pulse at the grassroots is well and truly in favour of development and they want to see this continue for another term. We hope that people of Silchar will bless the BJP so that we can continue to deliver and continue the development spree, Dr Roy said.

Asked whether BJP is worried of votes from the tea garden belt and minority areas, Dr Roy replied saying that both segments have shown incredible support towards the BJP and nearly 600 people belonging to the minorities have joined hands with us from Jirighat. This election will see a new beginning when the myth of bipolar fight with the Congress will be defeated with a thumping majority, he stated.

He said his dream was to boost the rail, road, air and internet highways in the valley together with creating employment scopes for the youths of Barak Valley.
