PMJAY launched in Manipur

IMPHAL, Sept 23 - The new healthcare scheme Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana-Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), a special health scheme for the poor was formally launched in Manipur on Sunday.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Speaker Y Khemchand Singh and others attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that such initiative would create a new history in the Health sector of the country. He mentioned that around 50 crore people would be benefiting under this scheme in the country.

Around 2.77 lakh families would be getting benefits from the PM-JAY in the State, he added. However, the families not included in the SECC data are being covered under the State government initiative Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT), a State Government health scheme, he said.

The Chief Minister also distributed Golden Record Card to selected 10 beneficiaries in the function.
