AGARTALA, Nov 15 � Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the second unit of Palatana power plant either on November 30 or December 1 next, according to official sources.
OTPC Managing Director SK Dube and other high officials have already arrived here. When contacted, he said Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the second unit of Palatana power plant either on November 30 or December 1 according to the indications the OTPC has received so far.
The PMO would finalise the high profile visit to the State after Prime Minister, who is on a foreign visit, returns to Delhi. �Pre-commissioning activities for the second unit are in full swing. We are hopeful of running the turbines with full load in presence of Prime Minister. And, the trial run for the second unit will be conducted after the visit of Prime Minister. If everything goes well, the commercial operation of the second unit will start in later part of the next month�, he said.
After receiving the green signal from the PMO, Tripura Chief Minister has already held a high level meeting here to prepare a roadmap for a grand welcome to Modi. This will be his maiden visit to the State as Prime Minister. Earlier, Modi had visited the capital town to join party�s Lok Sabha campaign.
