GUWAHATI, Sept 17 - The birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was celebrated at the office of Jyotisikha Samannay Parishad at Panjabari here, under the auspices of the Mahila Morcha of the State BJP in collaboration with Asomi Mahila Samity and Jyotisikha Samannay Parishad.
The meeting was presided over by Bijulee Kalita Medhi, president of Mahila Morcha.
Addressing the meeting, senior journalist DN Chakravarty dwelt at length on the dynamic leadership, astute statesmanship of Modi.
He also said Modi has devoted his entire political life for the all-round uplift of the deprived communities of India.
Urmila Chakravarty, president, Asomi Mahila Samity and Nivedita Baruah, president, Jyotisikha Samannay Parishad also congratulated the Prime Minister on his birthday.
On the occasion, the State BJP also undertook various activities here today.
BJP cadres distributed fruits among the inmates of Amar Ghar old age home at Patharquarry and at the Cancer Hospital near GMCH this morning.
A cleanliness drive was undertaken by the BJP Mahila Morcha on the Punjabari Durga Mandir premises.
The BJP Minority Morcha also distributed fruits at the Islampur Madrassa, Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital and the orphanage located at Dhirenpara on the occasion.
