AGARTALA, July 17 � Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh�s Tripura visit scheduled for July 22 has been cancelled, official sources said here on Sunday.
The Prime Minister was scheduled to arrive here to unveil the newly-built Assembly Building and lay the foundation stone for the Governor House.
The Prime Minister rang up Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Saturday evening and informed that he would not visit the State due to unavoidable circumstances, an official press release said.
Congress had in a letter to the Prime Minister on Saturday itself requested him not to visit Tripura in the wake of �undemocratic� actions of the Left Front Government here on Congress and also on media.
