PM asked to appoint Assamese MDs in OIL, BCPL

By Our bureau

DIBRUGARH, May 23 - The people of Assam have voted in strength for the BJP, now the Centre must give a return gift in the form of appointing befitting Assamese persons as MD/CMD of BCPL (gas cracker) and OIL, said the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Parishad (AJYP).

Both the posts are vacant for almost a year now, and the Centre is procrastinating on the issue on vague grounds.

AJYP general secretary Udayon Gogoi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can thank the people of Assam by appointing Assamese persons to the top posts in the two PSUs. His plea was seconded by Uday Shankar Mohon of the Sadau Asom Muttuck Yuva Chatra Sanmilan, the Garia Maria Desia Jatiya Parishad and Nabajyoti Neog, general secretary of Sadau Asom Nibanua Parishad.
