GUWAHATI, May 5 � The Bhumi Adhikar Sangram Samannay Samiti on Tuesday called upon the Prime Minister of India to secure the rights of the farmers and working masses by withdrawing the new Land Bill.
The Samiti in a statement expressed its resentment that the government describing itself as a pro-people government was going ahead with an initiative that was detrimental to the welfare of the farmers.
It needs to be mentioned here that opposition has been building up against this new Bill as the fear has been expressed that it will really help corporates and the big business houses.
