GOLAGHAT, May 26 Local people have urged the State Government to develop Dhansiri subdivision as a tourist spot. They also demanded scientific research on the artefacts found in the area and a better surface communication network.

Many artefacts have been recovered at Nagajuri, Rajapukhuri, Chutiapathar, Tengani, Alichiga and Dubaroni. Those included shivalingas, statues, ancient ruins, utensils, seals, inscriptions and coins. It is estimated that the ancient ruins may have belonged from the 4th to 8th centuries AD.
