SILCHAR, June 15 - Giving a thrust to the ideal of �think green and act green,� saplings were planted on the premises of the office of the Cachar Deputy Commissioner here today.
Deputy Commissioner S Vishwanathan, along with ADC Rajib Roy, District Forest Officer N Anand and other officials of the district administration, took part in the plantation drive.
It may be mentioned here that two saplings were planted at the Deputy Commissioner�s office complex and 10 saplings were planted in the Manoram clock tower garden at Rongpur.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Vishwanathan urged the people to plant saplings in order to keep the environment and surroundings clean and green. He said that the plantation drive was a part of the completion of 150 years of the office of the Cachar Deputy Commissioner.
