Placement of IIT-G students not hit by corona dislocation

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, April 21 - Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati today said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing nationwide lockdown, placement of its students has not been impacted.

Even in the current uncertain situation, the institute is happy to note that placements have not been impacted so far. No offers, domestic or international, have been withdrawn. However, a few companies have postponed the date of joining, said a statement issued by IIT Guwahati.

For internships, the institute is consulting the companies to assess the feasibility of the work from home model.

The institute is doing everything in its capacity to support students during this critical period. We have been conducting online classes of all the theory courses on account of the ongoing nationwide lockdown, the statement said.

IIT Guwahati has been conducting classes of more than 350 theory courses since April 4 and will likely complete them by May 15.

The institute has tentatively scheduled examinations for July. The next session is expected to begin in August.
