JORHAT, Sept 20 - Apprehending breach of peace, the Jorhat district administration has prohibited pillion riding on two-wheelers and wearing of helmets with tinted glass by two-wheeler riders across the district.
The District Magistrate on Tuesday issued an order under Section 144 of the CrPC in this regard, a press release issued by the district administration stated.
The release, quoting the order, said exemption from the prohibition has been provided to older persons and children, differently abled people, CRPF personnel in uniform, IAF personnel, policemen and other security personnel on duty.
The order comes into immediate effect and will remain in force till further orders, the release added.
