Physiotherapy treatment camp held

DERGAON, Dec 28 - A free physiotherapy treatment and assessment camp was organised recently at Lothagaon near here. The camp organised by 73rd Dergaon Bhogali Bihu Sanmilan, Lothagaon, in collaboration with Nabajyoti Physiotherapy Research Centre (NPRC), Dergaon at the Ajala Puthibhoral, Lothagaon, Dergaon was attended by a large gathering.

The camp was inaugurated by the chief adviser, NPRC, Dergaon and noted scientist Dr Choudhury Nath Saikia. The ceremonial lamp was lit by Dr Porag Kumar Thakur, the retired principal of DKD College and the president of NPRC, Dergaon. In the inaugural meeting, several distinguished persons of the locality were present. The organising secretary Satyajeet Dutta felicitated Dr Choudhury Nath Saikia, Dr Porag Kumar Thakur and Dr Arunjyoti Hazarika, the proprietor of NPRC with phulam gamosas.

Dr Porag Kumar Thakur, in his speech, highlighted the role of physiotherapy in various disease conditions in the present day context. At the camp, the NPRC team successfully treated a large number of patients having various orthopaedic and neurological problems.

The team was headed by Dr Arunjyoti Hazarika and assisted by Monalisa Dowerah, Nirmali Borah, Rimzim Borah and a few others.

NPRC under the leadership of Dr Arunjyoti Hazarika has organised several such camps in the area for the benefit of the people.
