GUWAHATI, March 16 - A free eye camp and a physiotherapy camp were held recently at the Pub Guwahati Girls� High School here, said a press release.
The camps were organised by Prof (retd) Balit Kumar Deka, president of the managing committee of the school�s ME section. It was inaugurated by Guwahati East MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharyya.
Dr Angshuman Deka, who examined the schoolchildren (about 140), detected many faults in their health and prescribed medicines for the same. Some guardians of the students also got their eyes checked.
The physiotherapy camp was conducted by Dr Lopa Das. She examined the children and finding deficiencies in their conditions, prescribed some physical exercises and medicines to them.
Later, the students submitted memoranda to the MLA through the president of the managing committee, highlighting their problems. Bhattacharyya assured them that he would look into their problems.
