PATACHARKUCHI, Aug 20 - On the occasion of World Photography Day, a two-day photography exhibition was organised at Bajali College by the Tourism and Travel Management and Mass Communication departments together from August 19.
The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Dr MK Mahanta, principal of the college. In his inaugural speech, Dr Mahanta dwelt at length about the beauty of photography as a creative art and lauded the initiative of the departments for organising such an exhibition in the college.
The noted personalities present in the unveiling of the exhibition were retired professor and veteran journalist Munindra Narayan Goswami, retired professor Mahadev Ch Deka, Prof CR Deka, professional photographer Pranjal Sarma and some prominent alumni of TTM department. Professor Arindam Talukdar, the coordinator of IQAC, Bajali College coordinated the entire programme.
Nearly 50 photographs from different genres by different photographers were displayed in the exhibition. An interactive meet with the photographers was also organised and a good number of students and teachers attended the programme.
