GUWAHATI, April 29 � Assam Photo Journalists� Association (APJA) in association with Oil India Ltd. is organising a five-day photo exhibition namely �Dr Bhupen Hazarika in Images� to pay homage to the cultural icon Dr Bhupen Hazarika from May 18 at the State Art Gallery here.
The contributions from the public will be displayed with full credits to the photographer or the person giving the photographs for this exhibition.
�Throughout his life, Dr Hazarika was active in different fields playing the roles of a legislator, a writer, composer, singer, director, producer, a father or friend, but above all an excellent human being. All these aspects of his life have been captured by various photographers at different times and places,� said a statement from the organisers.
The photographs can be emailed to�apjaghy@gmail. com�giving details about the photograph and also the details of the photographer including contact number etc. The photographs can also be given personally to the organising committee at the Guwahati Press Club, Ambari premises after obtaining a receipt for the same. After scanning the photographs, the originals will be returned to the rightful owners.
�The APJA will take full responsibility for the safe upkeep of the photographs and will have the right to use the same for the exhibition and also for a proposed coffee-table book to be published with these photographs for making a permanent homage to the great master after the exhibition,� the statement added. The last date for submitting the photographs is�May 5, 2012. The photographs should only be limited to the life span of the maestro.
