SIVASAGAR, Feb 19 � Phoenix CC have lifted the Konmai Gogoi-Bimola Dutta inter-club cricket league beating Zangam CC by virtue of first innings lead in the two-day final league match held at Pioli Phukan Stadium here under the aegis of the Sivasagar Sports Association.
Electing to bat, Zangam were all out for 202, Arpan Dutta top-scoring with 69. Bharot Newar of Phoenix got five wickets for 29 runs. Resuming day two on 133/4, Phoenix took control of the match with Yasir Ali�s 64 and Rajpal Saikia and Santanu Baruah each scoring 42, before being all out for 259. For Zangam, Arpan Dutta and Biku Borgohain picked three wickets apiece. Zangam were 86/4 in their second innings.
In the valedictory function, anchored by Manoj Bhagawati, prizes were distributed by Pronobjit Chaliha, Pabitra Dutta, Tapan Dutta, Anarup Borpuzari and Ujjal Borah.
