PHE Minister distributes land pattas to 593 beneficiaries at Jorhat

JORHAT, Nov 4 - State PHE Minister Rihon Daimary today distributed land pattas and allotment letters to landless people here.

The Minister distributed the pattas to 593 beneficiaries at a function organised at the Jorhat District Library Auditorium.

Altogether 1401 landless people in the district have been selected by the administration for providing land by issuing pattas and allotment letters.

Recently, Jorhat MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa had given away pattas to 137 beneficiaries out of the total 1401. The administration will soon distribute land pattas to the remaining 671 beneficiaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Daimary stressed upon the various schemes and projects undertaken by the Sarbananda Sonowal-led government for the downtrodden and the socially-backward sections of the society. He said that the government will further initiate steps for the betterment of the economically and socially-backward people.

Tasa along with Dergaon MLA Bhabendra Nath Bharali of the AGP, and senior district administration officials attended the meeting. Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Narayan Konwar gave the welcome address stating the objective of the function.

Several gaonburahs and Revenue Department officials and staff were present at the function.
