GUWAHATI, May 12 - The Post Graduate Students� Union (PGSU) of Gauhati University on Tuesday urged the State government not to set up quarantine centres at the colleges and universities of Assam.
The PGSU reaction came after two quarantine centres were set up on the campuses of Tezpur University and Kaziranga University. PGSU general secretary Moon Kumar Talukder said a quarantine centre will pose a serious threat to the staff and students who reside on the campus of an educational institution.
Talukder also appealed to all higher educational institutions of the State to conduct graduate and post-graduate examinations only after two months of regular classes, as a large number of students have not been able to participate in the online classes due to various reasons.
Talukder further asked the State government to issue an order to waive the hostel and PG rents of students.
