MORIGAON, Aug 26 - A two-year post-graduate (PG) course in Geography under Gauhati University was formally introduced at Morigaon College from this year. Morigaon College is the only college in central Assam now which has got the post-Graduate course in Geography under Gauhati University.
An open meeting was held on the occasion on August 22 at Akhil Gohain Hall under the presidentship of Dr LK Borthakur, principal, Morigaon College. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abani Kumar Bhagawati, Professor, GU, said that the new course in Geography at Morigaon College will be beneficial for the students of Nagaon, Morigaon and Hojai. Prof Bhagawati emphasised on the need of the expansion of Geography education among the school and college students. Biswajit Sarma, director, College Development Council, GU also spoke on the occasion.
