SHILLONG, June 18 - Three Godowns and a shop were gutted in a fire in Iewduh (Bara Bazar) on Sunday evening disrupting peace once again.

According to reports, the shopkeeper Rajiv Kumar, who deals in cosmetic items, was waylaid by four attackers in his shop, but he managed to escape. The attackers later hurled petrol bomb at his shop.

The fire from the cosmetic shop then spread to the adjacent Godowns, which was later doused by the fire brigade late in the evening. Meanwhile, the police has said it is investigating into the case.

Internet restored: Mobile Internet service has been restored again in Meghalaya State capital Shillong this afternoon by Home department, while East Khasi Hills district administration has relaxed the curfew timing further.

Mobile Internet service was suspended on June 1, a day after the violence broke out in the State Capital. It was restored on June 13, but after three days, it was suspended again to stop the circulation of fake and inflammatory news.

Meanwhile, East Khasi Hills District Magistrate, PS Dkhar relaxed the curfew timing for eighteen hours throughout the State Capital. Now there would be night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am throughout the State Capital from June 19.
