GUWAHATI, June 4 - Amrit Cement Company in association with Burah (Jame) Masjid of Guwahati on Monday gave away the Peace Awards 2019 to ten persons of the city. The awardees included Satyen Sarma, Col Arun Sarma, Mahimuddin Ahmed, Ahmed Hussain, Inamuddin Ahmed, Omar Rashid, Quari Khalilur Rahman, Dr Ashim Chaudhary, Moidul Quddus and Jonab Anowar Hussain. As part of the award ceremony, an iftar party for underprivileged people was also organised on the mosque premises, where more than 700 people, including women and children, were present.
Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
