TURA, May 20 - A truck full of rice, meant for distribution under the state�s PDS scheme, was caught by policemen while it was making suspicious rounds near the Dakopgre area. The truck bearing registration number AS 01 DD 9874 was seen by policemen on May 15. Following the suspicious movement of the truck, the police conducted a raid in a private warehouse at Burny Hills where a total of 420 bags of PDS rice was recovered.
West Garo Hills police later registered a case in this connection.
�We have not made any arrests as yet and the matter is currently under investigation. Detailed questioning is being done before further action is taken in the matter,� said SP MGR Kumar.
