GUWAHATI, Feb 20 In a thumbs up to Mayongs magic, prominent magician PC Sorcar (Junior) today said that he inherits his sorcery skills from Mayong and is keen to set up a University of Magic at Mayong in Morigaon district a place that boasts of a tradition of magic dating back to centuries.

Sorcar (Junior), however, asserted that the magic of Mayong is nothing but advanced science.

Talking to a select number of journalists here today, the magician said that his ancestors had settled in Mayong and attained the art of magic, which is why he is very close to the place.

In my research on Mayong, I have found that the art of magic is not discussed as it was done earlier. People should come forward and start working on its documentation. What is magic today will be science tomorrow, said Sorcar who holds a doctorate degree in Applied Psychology.

Sorcar said that the next big thing in the world of magic would be performed by his daughter Maneka PC Sorcar. Maneka is planning to perform a live show on a railway track, an act never performed before.

Asked, he said, I am ready to work on inclusion of magic in school curriculum as science for tomorrow.

Sorcar (Junior) is here to perform magic shows at the District Library.
