The 15-member delegation of the council, comprising Debojeet Thaosen, Chief Executive Member; 10 executive members, and other officials, called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan.

The Governor also suggested that the panchayats have to be delimited under the options of the State Elections Commission. He said that the communication problems of the area must be solved and insisted that construction of proper roads should be taken up in right earnest. He agreed to look into the need for helicopter services connecting the area with other Sixth Schedule areas through Guwahati, as requested by the delegates.

Meanwhile, an eight-member delegation of the Peoples Supreme Council of Dimaraji of Dima Halam Daogah, led by Dilip Nunisa, met Patnaik at Raj Bhavan today.

Nunisa, on behalf of the organization, submitted a developmental activities report to the Governor.

In the discussions that followed, the Governor wished success to the members in their normal life and said that having joined the mainstream they should work for restoring peace for the development of the area.

The Governor said that the council elections had to be postponed due to several reasons, including examinations of students, talks with the Centre, etc. He added that when they are held, everybody should participate in the elections so that a representative government emerges.
