AGARTALA, Sept 24 � President Pratibha Patil, arrived here today on a two-day maiden visit to Tripura.
The President was received at the Agartala airport by Governor D Y Patil, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and his Cabinet colleagues, DIG Police Control, Nepal Das said.
From the airport the President went straight to the Raj Bhavan.
The President would be given a civic reception by the Agartala Municipal Council (AMC) here this evening.
Patil�s scheduled departure from Aizawl to here was delayed due to inclement weather.
The President, who is the Visitor of the Tripura University, would attend it�s 8th Convocation at Suriyamaninagar tomorrow.
Security has been beefed up in the State in view of the President�s visit. � PTI
