NAGAON, Dec 15 - Sensation prevailed in Nagaon town on Saturday morning after a patient went missing from the Nagaon BP Civil Hospital when he was about to be released after treatment.
According to sources, the patient, identified as Puhiram Saikia (75) of Kahanligaon village in Nagaon was admitted to the hospital on December 12 by his family and his treatment was going on till this morning. The patient was about to be released today from the hospital by the concerned doctor. But amidst the preparation of release papers, the patient mysteriously went missing from his hospital bed. His family members searched for him at all possible places where he may have probably gone. But when they failed to trace him, they finally approached the Nagaon Sadar police and lodged an FIR. The police has registered a case and started investigation.
