Patacharkuchi girl brings glory by securing 7th position

PATACHARKUCHI, May 31 - A festive situation was witnessed in Pathsala town with the bursting of firecrackers followed by procession by students of Anundoram Barooah Academy and sprinkling of gulal, as Jyotismita Kalita, a resident of Patacharkuchi ward no-5, who appeared from school secured the 7th position in the HSLC examination 2017 conducted by SEBA.

She is the only student in the entire Bajali subdivision of Barpeta district to have her name among the top ten rank holders. She secured 583 marks with 97 in English, 100 in Mathematics, 93 in Assamese, 95 in General Science, 100 in Social Science and 98 in Computer Science with 97.17 per cent marks.

Jyotismita is the only daughter of Rudra Kalita, Associate Professor of Assamese Department, Nirmal Haloi College and Kabita Kalita, a teacher in 1226 no. Tangla LP School.

Jyotismita used to study 5-6 hours and after test examination she continuously studied for seven to eight hours. She hopes to be a good teacher in the future and will like to complete Master degree in Political Science. She gave the credit of her success to her parents; Dr Ranjit Deka, principal of the institution and her teachers. �Without their overall support, I could have never achieved such success,� she informed.

Thaneswar Malakar, Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta district arrived at the residence of Jyotismita Kalita and felicitated her with a phulam gamosa and a packet of sweets and wished her further success in the future.
