Passport office inaugurated at Tezpur Head Post Office

TEZPUR, April 10 - A Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) was inaugurated here by Tezpur MP RP Sharma on Monday

It may be mentioned here that the Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Department Posts (DoP) have decided to set up Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs). The objective of this partnership is to extend passport- related services on a larger scale and to ensure wider area coverage.

After inauguration of POPSKs at Silchar, Mangaldai and Dibrugarh, inauguration of POPSKs at Tezpur was the fourth of its kind in the State. There will be 50 appointments per day at POPSK at Tezpur. Passport applicants may apply through Passport portal � www.passportindia.gov.in and seek appointments, pay fees online and visit POPSK at Tezpur for processing of their application. The POPSK at Tezpur will help the people of Tezpur and those in the vicinity to apply for their passports without travelling to Guwahati.
