ITANAGAR, Aug 23 -�The Civil Terminal of Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) at Pasighat in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh is all set to be operational and will be in the country�s aviation map soon, informed Secretary of Civil Aviation, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Vinod P Kavle while inspecting the ALG�on Tuesday.
The upgraded Pasighat ALG, inaugurated by Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju will facilitate air connectivity with rest of the country, besides giving a huge fillip to tourism in the State.
Replete with facilities such as aprons for ground manoeuvring, Air Traffic Control tower, perimeter road and a security wall, the ALG will facilitate operations of fixed wing aircraft as well as helicopters of both civil and military operators.
Before giving a go-ahead, the Civil Aviation Secretary along with a team of officers in a joint inspection studied all aspects of the facility related to safety, security and other operations.
Kavle mentioned that Chief Minister and Chief Secretary held a series of meetings to make Pasighat ALG operational for commercial flights by September 2017 and that he has been sent to take stock of the ground reality.
During his visit, the Secretary expressed satisfaction over the progress and gave specific instructions for certain modifications of the existing facility of the civil terminal works.
