Parvez, Manoj put NFRSA on top

GUWAHATI, May 16 - Parvez Azaiz and Manoj Malo put NF Railway Sports Association (NFRSA) in control on the opening day of the three-day Elite Group Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament final. At the Assam Cricket Association�s Barsapara stadium here today, put into bat, the NFRSA batsmen made merry of the Guwahati bowling and scored 163 for the loss of two wickets after 58 overs of batting.

Opener Parvez and Manoj were in full cry on the rain curtailed opening day. Parvez scored 74 off 114 balls with six boundaries and four over boundaries. On the other hand Manoj is unbeaten on 70 off 172 deliveries. He hit five boundaries. Manoj, who struck a century in the semifinal against Dibrugarh, was seen with full of confidence as he middled the ball right from the beginning although the wicket was little damp due to impact of rain.

Only 58 overs of play was possible instead of 90 overs as heavy rain forced to cut short day�s play.
