By R Dutta Choudhury

GUWAHATI, June 7 - The Assam State Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will send feedbacks from the grassroots level to the Chief Minister so that the BJP-led alliance Government can fulfil the aspirations of all sections of people of the State. This was disclosed by Santanu Bharali, who took over as the acting president of the State unit of the BJP today.

Talking to The Assam Tribune after taking over charge today, Bharali said that the main priority would be to give constructive support to the Government. The people of Assam, who were fed up with the Congress rule, elected the BJP-led alliance Government with high hopes and it is up to the Government to deliver to expectations of all sections of people, he pointed out.

Bharali said that his main priority would be to give constructive support to the Government and to strengthen the partys organizational strength in the State so that we can serve the people of the State at least for the next 50 years. He said that the BJP has booth level committees and the members those would be asked to send their feedback on the performance of the Government. The feedback received from the grassroots level would be shared with the Government so that it can formulate its policies and plans accordingly to the expectations of the people, he added. He also said that at the personal level also, he would maintain regular contact with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and inform him of the feedback received from the ground level.

The BJP acting president asserted that there would not be two power centres one at Dispur and the other in the party office. We will work hand in hand and give all the support that the Government requires to fulfil the expectations of the people, he asserted. He also said that the BJP now has around 28 lakh members and efforts to increase the number of members would continue in the days to come.

Bharali said that maintaining a cordial relation with the alliance partners is vital for the smooth functioning of the Government. He revealed that the BJP would hold regular interaction with the alliance partners Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) and their suggestions to ensure smooth functioning of the Government would be shared with the Chief Minister. There is no problem which cannot be solved through discussions and the BJP would follow that policy for the solution of the problems of the State, he added.
