GUWAHATI, Dec 31 - The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has wished the people of Assam on the occasion of New Year and expressed the hope that 2016 will usher in peace and prosperity in the State.
Meanwhile, the APCC in its New Year greetings to the people of Assam said that it hopes peace and unity will prevail in 2016 and Assam will make rapid strides in all fronts.
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Assam Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party, Guwahati City District Committee have expressed that the New Year will bring all people together to build a prosperous Assam. State BJP president Sarbananda Sonowal has declared that the BJP will work to build a powerful Assam on the foundation of values and ethics.
Sonowal said that the party will ensure that the State makes progress socially, culturally and economically and will fulfil every aspiration of the common people. Sonowal also appealed to the youth to come forward and participate in the process of nation building.
The Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad (SAKP) has prayed for peace and progress and said that the people of Assam must resolve to create a work culture in the New Year and create an ambience of tolerance.
The All Assam Minorities Students Union too has extended its greetings to the people of Assam.
Meanwhile, the Liberal Democratic Party has wished the people of Assam a very happy New Year and prayed to God for love and grace.
